Hello,

I just picked myself up a new car, a 1994 n/a Capri, 5 speed with 94k miles on it.  Bought it as a daily driver, but then found out about its rarity (shame its not an XR2 though).  Still has to do daily driver duty though, at least until i finish my other project and can justify/afford yet another car. Will be taking care of it though.  Currently looks beautiful except two tiny tears on each side of the soft top at the back corners, and condensation inside the tail light lenses. will be around looking for advice,as there are a few electrical gremlins, but first just wanted to say hi.

Hi!  Welcome to the boards!

No expert here --- relatively new owner of a '93 XR2.

In my limited experience, be prepared for some creativity with the electrical gremlins.   ;)

Hi wvengr and welcome to TeamCapri.

There is a wealth of knowledge here (but not me, I'm here to read and learn 2)

BEWARE, CAPRI are addictive.  We have 2 and want a couple more.  Have 91 and 93 looking for 92 and 94.

Yes very addictive,  It is going to be my daily driver, and eventually become a project once i am done restoring my Edsel.  I have wanted a sporty little convertible for a long time now, finally got one. I have no idea how i keep ending up with green cars. I have three cars, a Aspire, My Edsel, and the Capri, all are almost the same color green, and i never set out looking for a green car in any of those cases.  (actually wanted a red Capri, but couldn't find one in a 5 speed near me)

Paint it then, after all else is done.

Ford's "Cardinal Red" was standard prior to '94, there was a slight tint change/color name change in the '94 IIRC.

I'm hoping in the far distant future that my DD XR2 becomes midnight blue with stars, etc.  Hopefully one of my "artsy" friends can contribute to that part of the project.

Yeah, that may happen eventually, but i don't mind the green.  Not changing colors until it's not my daily driver though, don't want it to look terrible, so i would have to take it pretty far apart to get a nice looking result.

Yeah, that's (understandably) true.  It'd be an awful long weekend job
