No Spark!

I have a 93 NA that has no spark. It just stopped running. Have replaced cap, rotor, ign module, fuel pump and filter. No spark at plugs. Sprayed fuel in throttle body and no fire. Anyone have an idea?

Does the tachometer jump when you crank the engine?

When you say you sprayed fuel in the TB, was the intake piping connected?

The air intake was not attached, and the tach does not move.

Which ignition module did you replace, the one inside the distributor, or the one outside?

The one on the inside is the problematic one. Without it, the ECU doesn't see the engine spinning, and won't give the ignition coil spark or tell the injectors to fire.

It's a good idea to check the grounds on the thermostat housing too. Part of the distributor grounds there & can cause no-spark.

And just FYI - the intake tract must be complete for the engine to run. The airflow meter contains the fuel pump switch, and unless the engine is cranking and drawing air through it will not run the fuel pump.

Blackhawk,
i just experienced loss of spark last weekend.
my timing belt broke.
i gathered all the parts today to replace the belt, idler/tension pullies, water pump, & alternator.
--i'm about 50% through removing all parts.
i may get the belt on tonight, and complete entire reassembly and timing tomorrow.

to check your timing belt, remove your upper cover (covering your CAM pullies)and check tension on your timing belt... i was simply able to pull my timing belt straight up and out since it was spliced.

Thanks for the info on the timing belt, but the distributor turns. If the belt was broken it would not turn. Correct?

Is there a way to test the pickup coil that I removed from inside the distributor?

does this help?
it's assuming the coil is still in the distibutor.
