Title: Brake Pad Clips
Post by: rcdraco on July 22, 2010, 06:54:00 AM
I just bought a set of clips that go on the brake assembly somewhere and I can't figure out where they're actually supposed to go.  323/Ford Escort manuals don't show any good pictures of it's location, and the shop manual is just as vague.  Are they actually necessary at all?

The springs I understand and can use, but the clips seem to be useless, the only place I see them fitting is on the steering knuckle against the piston side pad.

EDIT: Actually didn't install the clips anywhere, nothing happened.  Brakes don't squeak and I think the only reason the pedal is heavy is excess fluid in the reservoir.
