[WTB] xr2 parts
« on: February 01, 2011, 05:22:00 AM »

B6t swapped festiva still not starting.  I am missing the over boost pressure switch off of my harness, and also gauge pressure switch, but i don't think i need that for the engine to run.

I also have a green with red stripe wire unconnected under the distributor where the grounds/coolant sensor is located.  Does anyone know what it is to?

Also looking for a working ECM and VAF.  I have changed out the distributor with a known working one.  Timing is right, i have spark, and fuel at rail (43psi)..injectors not clogged.

Any advice would be nice as well...

You're getting fuel, spark...

Will the engine run if you use starting fluid?

Engine timing - Crank/cams? If your timing is right it should kick over with starting fluid.

Are your plug wires/firing order correct?

If you're going with a chipped ECU you dont *need* the overboost sensor, it just gets unplugged after that. I have ECU's, or can test your ECU if you're interested.

Do you have a picture of the wire you're referring to?

The car should start without the gauge pressure switch.

Hope this helps-

With the crank at TDC at cylinder number one.  I have the "I" on the intake cam alligned and the "E" alligned on the marked notch.  Distributor rotor points phyically at cylinder #1.

Won't start with starting fluid.

How much for a stock ecu?  I need to get this thing running ASAP before i yank it out and put the stock motor back in.

I'll get pics of the plugs later today.

I need the sensor for this connector.  I think it is barometric sensor.

What is spark plug gap supposed to be on xr2's?

That wire you're talking about at the top should be to the O2 Sensor if I'm thinking correct.  Even if the spark gap is off though starting fluid or gas should make a noticable kick when it sparks.

Connector is near the firewall...just right of the knock box and by the A/C "blue" plug.

Broken wire....

Is that the stock bypass valve?
You can't run them open like that. Try capping it for now or recircing it somewhere behind the VAF.

Also, it looks like your plug wires are in the wrong place. Starting from the front of the dizzy it should be 4-3-1-2, it looks like you have 1-2-4-3

Dizzy cap should be marked - have a look.
