« on: November 30, 2011, 08:00:00 PM »

Hey there, I'm lookng to buy a couple relays from you guys. (crossed the battery cables, i'm a genius)    I need the relays for the headlight motors and lights, the horn relay, and the radiator fan relay. My email is GoosehunterB@Gmail.com   I have pay-pal if that works for you? Thanks again! - Braden

Check the main fuseblock under the hood first    I doubt you burnt any relays.

I agree... what might kill a relay is too much voltage...seems that if voltage is reversed that big fuse kicks out before elecronics fry...usually...Chris

thanks, i did that first and had to replace the main fuse, and two small ones below the dash, but still no luck. but you think its not the relays? i'll check the headlight motors tonight, i hope its not that! I tracked down all the wiring and cant seem to find any problems. If i knew how to check the relays i would lol, the radiator relay looks fine,(as far as i can tell). nothing burned or shorted.  thanks for such fast replies!

The headlights use a module under the dash, it has the relays in it, there's nothing individual. Maybe you managed to burn up the module

Q about the headlight module... I've noticed lately that it (? something) chatters quite a bit when the headlights go up and down nowadays... like a good 3-4 seconds of high speed chatter....

is something going bad?

The rotary switch inside your headlight motor needs to be cleaned.

I also had that occur just from the contacts under the hood being dirty, which I suggested you clean on your original post.  I'd recommend you locate a manual for the car and go through the steps to determine the real problem you're having, or find where it's mirrored at online.  I learned from replacing a ton of my relays how rarely they actually fail.

hey, i cleaned up all the grounds and connetions and the lights work with the FtP but not with the switch. so it must be with the dash switch of the center console module. Thanks for the help guys! you were right, it wasn't the relays!
