how do i remove the antenna cable. am putting a new fender on my capri and i cant find a way to remove the antenna?

Piojo...no one is replying because its a pain in the ass to do...you need to disconnect the antenna from the radio and remove the whole cable...follow the cable from where it connects to the radio, disconnecting ties where it is held n place...you wind up at the inside feedthrough hole...pull it out, thread it into your new fender, and put it all back...Chris

It does remove from the antenna base. But most of them are corroded into place

Lube it up, put some force into it. Eventually it will unplug from the antenna base

So, if you untwist it, the shaft doesn't remove from the base?  That's all he need to do to clear the fender.

Removing the aerial will not make the antenna base clear the fender

The wire must be unplugged from the base, the base will not fit through the hole in the fender

This is how I replaced my Antenna and cable.  I attached the new cable to the old cable tip2tip. unscrew the 2 screws from the antenna and pull the cable through outside. New antenna sux because I am left with hole or two that i have to cover up.  If he's replacing the fender, I think that's would be even easier.
