Where can I purchase a Igniter?
-
The Ignition Coil at the Air Box??
WIDELY available.
-
No. Inside the distributor.
-
I started a part number master list:

Try searching eBay for the Mitsubishi part numbers, I have found them as cheap as $35 before
-
Thanks again Rocketman. It may not be the igniter. The firing looks good BUT when I try to push the gas pedal setting still the engine goes dead as if it was starving for gas?
-
If the car runs fine otherwise, or runs fine (or at least idles) once warm it's not the ignitor. They either work or do not work, sometimes intermittent but temperature related & progressively worse (fail as the engine warms up)
The symptoms you describe sound like a bad vacuum leak somewhere behind the VAF

This all started when I was cleaning the ground terminals on the passenger side and drivers side, I also checked the plugs around and under the air box and coolent tank.
-
I have fire but no start. I have gas at the fuel rail.
-
Did you clean the ground near the thermostat housing? Does your tachometer show any RPM's (200-300)when cranking?
-
The tech does move to 200 to 300 rpm. and it tries to crank when I first hit the starter but don't. It was running ok before it cleaned the grounds and checked the plug in terminals. The motor had gotten a little lazy.
-
Hmmmm that's a tough one. Did you mess with the fuel injector harness plug? If that isn't seated correctly the injectors won't get a signal.
Have you tried using starting fluid?
-
When I first got thru cleaning the grounds it would crank but when I tried to rev up the motor it would go dead or die down until I backed off then it would idle but now it want crank at all. Just like it was sarving for gas.
-
What kind of voltage should I read at the injectors and when?

Please describe "checked".
If you touched any Air Intake stuff, check for cracks, loose, leaks

All I did with the connections was to unplug them and clean the terminals.
